Photographing Friends
One of the best parts of being a photographer is getting to capture the moments of my friends' lives. Maddi is a perfect example of why I love what I do. I’ve known her since she was seven years old. We first met at her 7th birthday party, which I attended with her cousin, and from the moment we met, we instantly clicked. I know a lot of people say that, but with Maddi, it couldn’t be more true. We share so many of the same interests, and I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life.
As the years went by and we both grew into adults, I had the privilege of watching her grow and evolve. I saw her get her first job, go to college, and dive deep into a field she’s truly passionate about. I even had the honor of taking her graduation photos. Watching Maddi grow into the incredible woman she is today has been nothing short of inspiring. The little seven-year-old I met all those years ago would be so proud of who she’s become.
Through it all, I’ve also witnessed Maddi’s journey through love. I saw her first crush in high school—the kind of young love that’s full of excitement but also heartbreak. He made the mistakes that many high school boys do, and, sadly, broke her heart. I was there when she found love again, only for that relationship to reveal that while love was present, it wasn't always enough to overcome certain challenges.
But then came Jordan.
Seeing Maddi with him feels different. It’s the kind of love that’s genuine, where both people see each other’s worth, strengths, and the unique qualities that make them who they are. Jordan lifts her up in ways that are so rare, and she does the same for him. It’s clear to me that Maddi has found someone who truly understands how special she is. And what’s even more beautiful is that Jordan knows he’s lucky to have her.
Maddi has had love before, but I truly believe Jordan is the first to see what others couldn’t—the depth, the strength, and the beauty that makes her who she is. He’s here to stay, and I couldn’t be more excited for their future together. I have no doubt that when the time comes, he’ll pop the question—and I’ll be ready to capture their engagement photos!
I’m so grateful to be part of Maddi’s journey. It’s moments like these that remind me of why I love what I do—being able to capture not just milestones, but the people and stories that matter most.
