Katie and Isaac's Engagement at Fonta Flora Whippoorwill Farm

Back in college, my photography classes relied on friends as willing models. Katie was one of my favorites to photograph while I learned the basics. Years later, now working full time as a photographer, I feel truly grateful to use those early skills to document such a meaningful chapter in her life.

I recently photographed Katie and Isaac's engagement session at Fonta Flora Whippoorwill Farm near Lake James State Park in North Carolina. This special spot holds deep meaning for them. It is where they first met while working together, making pizzas.

The location offers incredible beauty. Expect rustic stone buildings, wide open fields, and scenic views that make any session feel timeless.

We even ran into our friend Caleb, who kindly let us hop back onto the food truck where the pizzas are made. Standing at the exact spot where their relationship began added an extra layer of emotion to the photos.

The whole time we laughed, played, and joked around. That natural fun led to perfectly authentic moments full of genuine smiles and joy.

I'm so happy Katie found Isaac, someone who loves her the way she truly deserves. It means a lot to capture different stages of a friend's life over the years. I will always treasure these experiences.

I look forward to their wedding later this year. Knowing Katie, it will be an unforgettable celebration.
